A big trip: Skiing in New Zealand and some trains – all booked

By on June 7, 2007 in Australia, New Zealand, Travel Tip, UK

The next big trip is all booked…

The Plan:

  1. Fly from the UK to Australia and spend a few days staying with friends, and a week or so travelling around Australia.
  2. Fly from Australia to Queenstown, New Zealand to ski four local ski areas (Treble Cone, The Remarkables, Coronet and Cardrona).
  3. Fly from Queenstown to Christchurch
  4. Train, ferry, train from Christchurch to meet friends in Palmerston North.
  5. Drive from Palmerston North to Ohakune to ski on Mount Ruapehu
  6. Return to the UK, via the USA.

And that is pretty much what is going to happen.  I will fly to Perth, Australia and then on to Darwin to take the train to Adelaide (The Ghan).  From Adelaide I will drive to Melbourne and then fly to Queenstown, New Zealand.

The rest of the trip is then as described above…..

Yep, it’s a big trip.
