Durian frozen yoghurt….

By on August 7, 2013 in Malaysia

Today I tried Durian frozen yoghurt, and it was an interesting taste…

In case you don’t know the Durian is an infamous local fruit that people either love or hate.

The Durian lovers think it is great, whereas the haters really hate it…

Before today I had only tried Durian in puffs (they had no taste beyond the taste of the rather chemically cream), but of course I have smelt them in numerous shops and on roadside stalls, and the other day I even smelt a Durian roadside stand some 500 m before I saw it.

So, what is Durian frozen yoghurt like? Well, it is like a sort of cheesy yoghurt with a hint of sulphur. The taste was surprisingly strong and it pretty much overpowered the taste of the vanilla and the chocolate frozen yoghurts I had in the bowl.

Bottom line – would I have it again? Maybe… I wouldn’t rule it out, but I don’t think it will ever be my favourite food.

Must try the fruit next…
