Day 4: Back over to Auffach/Inneralpbach Ski Area – back on the ski bus

By on January 7, 2015 in Austria

I enjoyed the Auffach/Inneralpbach Ski Area so much yesterday that I am heading back over.

As I wait for the ski bus outside the Harfenwirt one thing is noticeable – the slopes of Niederau are much quieter today. Looks like most of the Austrians have headed back to work after the public holiday.

One thing I have discovered is there are two bus types. Yellows and reds. Reds go to Worgl, but I need a yellow as it goes to Auffach. Buses to Auffach run ever 15 to 29 min from 8:20 am to 9:55 am, and then every 30 min or so.

On the plus side, you know when a yellow bus is coming as it has to go up the valley to turn around at the end of its route. This means if you see it going up the valley you have 5 – 10 min to get to the stop.
