The drive from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Park City, Utah – part 1 of 2

By on February 14, 2015 in USA

Leaving Las Vegas, and passing through the desert of Nevada and Arizona and on to Park City, Utah for some skiing, was going to be an interesting drive.

The drive from Las Vegas to Park City takes around 7 hours and is about 430 miles.

Personally, I liked the drive as even though it was pretty much Interstate all the way we did get to see America and the every changing scenery.

Las Vegas is as you would expect. All flashy and full of bright lights.

But what is surprising is that it doesn’t take long to leave all of that behind and as you drive north on Interstate 15. You soon start to pass quite quickly through more run down and seedier areas.

And then eventually in to areas of light industry and finally into the desert.

You would think on a drive north out of Las Vegas to Park City that things would get boring along Interstate 15, but for me, they didn’t as things were always changing. The countryside was amazing. I loved the desert.

Eventually, you leave Nevada and pass into Arizona.

As soon as we hit Arizona, the roads got worse. Note all the patching.

And the road continued...
