Welcome to Myanmar (Burma)

By on March 24, 2015 in Myanmar/Burma

Landed in Myanmar (Burma)…. Interesting airport. Very busy with lots of guys offering to taxis. Not too sure how legal that is…

My phone has found a local network and I was offered a data service for a capped fee RM38 (£7.40; US$11) per day. Decided to accept it, however, there doesn’t seem to be a data network available.

International and domestic flights go from different terminals, and the domestic terminal (an incredibly ornate looking building you see when you land) is next door to the international terminal. Leave the international terminal, turn left, and walk for about 100 m.

The above photo shows the inside of the domestic terminal. Love the wood carving and the columns!

Update: Fixed the lack of a data connection by turning the phone off, and then turning it on. The 3G connection popped right up.
