Street Scenes in Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar (Burma)

By on March 29, 2015 in Myanmar/Burma

I really enjoy exploring the streets of a city and taking photos, and Yangon (Rangoon) hasn’t disappointed me – there is a lot going on.

Around Bo Gyoke Road there are a number of market stalls on the pavements selling clothes, food and “antiques”.

The housing is a of a real mix…

And there are a number of small street shrines on some of the trees.

There was also a real contrast in the houses. The ‘sandwiching’ of a modern block between two old buildings….

And this was inventive. If you deliver to these flats (and I bet it is food (take-away) being delivered) you attach it to a clip so it can be raised to the flat window. Why come down to the door, when you can pull it up to you on a string?

Why come down for a delivery when you can hang out a rope?
