Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel, Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar (Burma)

By on March 30, 2015 in Myanmar/Burma

Arrived at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel. The place is a little tucked away down a small back road in the port area.

To get to the hotel you pass by a pagoda and then down through a market and a small carpark.

The hotel is a decommissioned former luxury yacht/boat/ship that is still floating, but is firmly attached to the shore.

Room is OK, if a little dark. There is s lot of brown colours around, and lighting is dim.

The room, and the whole hotel, is kitted out as if it was in the 1920s. Quite frankly I am finding it a bit odd.

The place is also deserted. I didn’t see anyone as I headed to my room (or should that be cabin?).

There is a slightly odd smell in the corridors and room… A sort of musty damp smell.
