No shoes – but can you wear socks?

By on April 4, 2015 in Myanmar/Burma

This is an interesting question…..

I have visited many temples, shrines, shops and other buildings on my travels and I often have to take my shoes off before entering such places. I have no problem with that, other than walking around with no shoes on really hurts my feet. After Mandalay Hill (see earlier post on – Mandalay Hill, part 1, part 2, and part 3), which I had to walk with no shoes on, I could hardly walk the next day. My feet were killing me, but at least I was able to keep my socks on (although someone did complain about that).

However, what about socks? Yes or no? My guess is you should take them off, especially if it says so on a sign….

My poor aching feet…..
