W.W. Laksa House 水塘路辣沙 is a Malaysian Restaurant and Coffee Shop located at 6A& 36A1, Jalan Kolam Air (Taman Water Works), 80100 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. If you are interested (and you most probably aren’t, and this may put you off), but the W.W. stands for Water Works…

The place, as the name suggests, really only serves Laksa, or as it is also called, Curry Laksa.

Laksa is a coconut-based curry soup, which contains bean curd puffs, fish sticks, shrimp and cockles (cockles are optional at WW). The small dish in the photo below contains sambal chilli paste (chili peppers and with shrimp paste, and possibly some fish sauce, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar), which when added to the Laksa gives it a nice kick.

The dish also contains noodles and at the Laksa House you get a choice, personally I prefer Yellow Mee, which is a round moderately thin noodle

You also get otak-otak (shown below). Otak-otak translates to ‘fish brains’, but is actually ground up fish mixed with spices, the wrapped in a banana leaf and grilled.

Typical cost of a large Laksa (as shown above), a drink and some otak-otak is around RM9 (just under US$3; £2) at W.W. Laksa House.
