Wanderings, travel, photographs and skiing…

The people of Bali, Indonesia

By on September 2, 2015 in Indonesia

Besides the wonderful lush green countryside, the magnificent views, and the stunning temples Bali is also full of truly interesting characters, and below is a collection of some of the shots of people I took on my travels around the island.

This first character was interesting, and I encountered him at the Tegallalang Rice Terraces. I just thought he was a local farmer sitting there taking a rest, so I snapped this photo (using quite a long lens), and he managed to spot me (as can be seen by the wave), and once I had taken the photo, he demanded money. I watched him for sometime after I took my shot and he did the same with a number of other tourists… Oh, and yes, I did pay him.

This character at the Cremation Ceremony at Penebel Kaja caught my eye as this was obviously his daily dress, and I just loved the way the hat coordinated with the Sarong.

And of course, nearly everywhere you go in Bali you will bump into tourists doing the rounds.
