St Anton, Austria – a summary – great skiing, fun town

By on March 14, 2005 in Austria

The weather in St Anton, Austria, was terrible….  Snowed all but 1.5 days.  Also very cold.  However, the conditions were great and on the one clear day, we had a blast.

As ever, the Apres Ski in St Anton was unbelievable.  The Mooserwirt was outstanding (however, it was so cold that my beer actually frosted over (see earlier Day 4: St Anton, Austria – great skiing and apres ski at Mooserwirt)!  The Underground (see earlier Day 7: St Anton, Austria – exploring the town) was equally good with a very lively three piece band playing all the hits you like to sing.

The chalet (Pias), in terms of room size and food, was a major disappointment (see earlier Day 3: St Anton, Austria – Chalet Pias, worse food in St Anton?).

I would definitely go back to St Anton.  The skiing was very good and challenging.  Next time I go I will pack extra thermal underwear and a spare liver.
