SNAKE!!!!! An update….

By on April 16, 2013 in Malaysia

A little while ago I had my first snake encounter in Malaysia (see SNAKE!!!!!)… and even though I have bought a book on snakes, and I have searched Google, I am still unable to identify it.

Recently, I was sent some photos of the snake (it was captured by security, photographed, and then removed from the area), and I still can’t identify it.

I spotted the snake in a bush and at the time described it as “green/brown, quite thin, and about 40 cm long”, which kind of fits with the photos.

Any ideas what it is?

I have no idea what the snake is… It was described as a ‘garden snake’

I have also posted this on iSpot.

Over at iSpot Masked Marvel has suggested that it is a Painted Bronzeback (Dendrelaphis pictus), and having looked at http://www.ecologyasia.com/verts/snakes/painted_bronzeback.htm I am inclined to agree with Masked Marvel's suggestion.
