Day 5: Skiing Snowbird, Utah

By on February 19, 2015 in USA

Spent the day skiing Alta and Snowbird ski areas and it was fantastic – much better than Deer Valley. The two resorts are only about 9 miles from Park City, but it will take you around 45 minutes to drive there as by road it is around 40 miles.

The two areas are linked by a high mountain cross-over (shown below), and we decided to ski Alta in the morning, and Snowbird in the afternoon.

One neat feature at Snowbird is a tunnel that links one part of the ski area to the other. As you ride along it that are a number of exhibits and old photos to look at. All rather interesting.

We had a blast in Snowbird. There were some great runs, and the snow was excellent (much more snow than at Deer Valley, or Park City).

We thoroughly enjoyed Snowbird. There were no lift lines, the weather was great, and there was great snow. It is a skier paradise.
