Full House, Friday Street, Henley-on-Thames, UK – the price of chips

By on July 5, 2015 in UK

Full House, Chinese Restaurant (well, really it is a take-away, or what I would call a ‘chippy’), is located at 10 Friday Street, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 1AH, United Kingdom, and it is your standard small town chippy, and it does great chips.

During the Henley Royal Regatta (HRR) the town of Henley-on-Thames has been known to experience some, shall we say, inflationary pressures, that is, prices mysteriously go up in the town…. And I encountered such an example at the Full House.

On the Wednesday evening of HRR (the first day of the regatta) I called in to get a bag of chips, with salt and vinegar, and I was charged £1.50. When I visited on the Sunday evening I was charged £2 for the same size bag of chips. Now, that is what I call inflation! 33% over 3 days!
