I continued to explore Banteay Samré (បន្ទាយសំរែ) and take advantage of having the place almost to myself — the other tourists were still at Banteay Srei Temple (ប្រាសាទបន្ទាយស្រី) or on their way.

I enjoyed my time exploring Banteay Samré (បន្ទាយសំរែ).
What made it a great experience for me, besides the grandness of the architecture and the craftsmanship, was that I had the temple almost to myself for an hour. The peace and quiet were refreshing. All I could hear was the sounds from the surrounding jungle, and it made me wonder what the place must have been like when it was first built and before the arrival of modern tourists.
