Cambodia — Tuk Tuks (auto-rickshaws) of Siem Reap, Cambodia
Tuk Tuk, sir?
September 2015
Whenever I walked around Siem Reap, Cambodia, I would be approached within a few minutes and asked if I wanted a Tuk Tuk (auto-rickshaw). If I said no, I would be offered some ‘company’ for the morning, evening, or night (depending on the time of day), followed by ‘drugs?’.
Tuk Tuks were ubiquitous in the town. Everywhere I went, there were Tuk Tuks. They were either parked up waiting for me or trying to run me down as I crossed the road.
I liked riding in the Tuk Tuks and thought they were a great way to get around town. However, I could have done without being offered a Tuk Tuk every few minutes.
