Laos — Exploring Luang Prabang (ຫລວງພະບາງ/ຫຼວງພະບາງ), Laos — part 3 of 3
The final part of exploring Luang Prabang (ຫລວງພະບາງ/ຫຼວງພະບາງ) — nearby countryside
September 2015
After exploring the centre of a very quiet and peaceful Luang Prabang (ຫລວງພະບາງ/ຫຼວງພະບາງ), Laos, I decided to leave the town and explore the countryside.
Once I got into the suburbs, I found people, and just like the other Southeast Asia countries I had visited, the motorbike was king. They seemed to be everywhere.
Finally, with some help from the people at my hotel, I hired a taxi to take me further into the countryside.
And it wasn’t long before we were going down little country lanes and roads exploring the area.
And then we were in the countryside with workers attending to their fields.
And some great views.
And, of course, a monk down by the river.
I liked Luang Prabang (ຫລວງພະບາງ/ຫຼວງພະບາງ), Laos, a lot. I thought the town was fantastic. It was very clean and tidy, with some great architecture. The town was very quiet.
The surrounding countryside was stunning, with lush green fields, mountains and beautiful views.
