The Royal Palace Museum, Luang Prabang (ຫລວງພະບາງ/ຫຼວງພະບາງ) is the former royal palace and grounds. The Palace is open from 8:00 to 11:30 and from 13:30 to 16:00.
There was an entry fee and a “no photos, no shoes, and leave your bag in a locker” policy. All of which I did.
The first room I entered was a rather grand King’s Reception Room. The Throne Room was stunning and was restyled in 1959 with Japanese glass m.....
At this point, I was asked to leave the museum, not for using my camera (which was in the locker), but for making notes on what I was looking at. A first for me.
As I left, I asked for my money back and got a refund.
I headed off in search of an iced coffee.
