Malaysia — Tanjung Balau Beach, Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia
Now, this is a beach!
May 2015
Tanjung Balau Beach was beautiful, and it was great to see a beach being used and so much going on. How come Desaru Beach was so quiet, and Tanjung Balau Beach was so busy? Time of day?
Great kite selling stall.
Panorama showing Tanjung Balau Beach — it was very picturesque.
The beach wasn’t just for day-trippers and people relaxing; there were also local fishing boats moored up.
Though I have no idea what type of fishing. Fish? Shellfish?
Just around the headland from Tanjung Balau Beach is a cove; however, it is not sandy.
And the cove’s shoreline was made up of rocks and small pieces of shell and stone.
Like most coastal areas in Malaysia, Tanjung Balau Beach was contaminated with plastic bottles, ropes, and old fishing nets. I found the same problem at Tanjung Piai National Park and Desaru Beach.
However, despite some rubbish on the beach, it was still a beautiful place to visit.
And the beach is the first place I have been to in Malaysia where people seem willing to swim in the sea.
And to relax in the water.
While I was at Tanjung Balau Beach, I saw two photoshoots. One was for wedding photos, and the other is shown in the photograph below. I have no idea what was going on.
But most people were there to hang out on the beach or to cool off in the sea after a hot day.
Tanjung Balau Beach, Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia, was what I was expecting from a sandy beach in Malaysia. Sand, warm water and people having fun.
