Sibu, Malaysia — The Night Market, Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia
Exploring the night market in Sibu
March 2015
Sibu has a night market every night, and I like night markets. So I went for a look.
I visited the market last year, and it was great to be back looking around and trying some local food on offer.
There were numerous foods available.
Barbecued.
Steamed buns, which are called bao.
For me, bao are a bit of a lottery as they contain different fillings ranging from savoury (on this evening, I had one with a pork filling) through to sweet (I also had one with some sort of jam).
There were also curries available.
And kebabs.
All kinds of food and drink.
Dim Sum was available.
And pork products.
I dread to think about what this person is pouring down the drain.
The food looked good, but I did worry about some of the drinks.
And I loved the inventive use of the bicycles in the market.
A great market. Good food, and good for people watching.
On this trip, like last year, I returned to the night market every evening for a snack and some people watching.
