More strange goings-on at Changi Airport, Singapore
February 2015
The first part of the trip from Malaysia to Las Vegas went OK. I managed to get a lift to downtown Singapore from Malaysia with a colleague.
Once in Singapore, I caught the MRT (underground train) to the airport. This worked great and proved to be 60 times cheaper than getting a taxi from Malaysia to Changi Airport.
One downside of the flight I had booked was that it left at 5:45 am. If travelling by taxi, I would have had to leave my house at 1 am to get the flight — no point in going to bed. So, I decided to go to the airport around 8 hours early. This was not a good idea, as when I got to the airport, I discovered United Airlines didn’t have an early check-in. Hence I was stuck in the departure hall for 4 hours with my bags. I had planned to go through security and use an airline lounge.
As ever, there was something weird going on at Changi Airport.
What was this all this about?
Any ideas?
I spent the 4 hours wandering around the airport. It was odd walking through the terminal at 4:45 am. The place was deserted. Usually, this airport is packed.
